Certified Network Administrator Salaries

With that as a starting point, how do Network Administrators with one or more certifications fare? According to PayScale.com data, Red Hat Certified Engineers top the earnings list with a median salary of $67,430. We would have chosen a lower level Red Hat certification to compare, such as Red Hat Certified Technician, but RHCE seemed the closest match to our criteria of being a system administrator certification. Next up, Sun Certified System Administrators, with a median of $65,150, followed by Certified Novell Administrators ($52,486), Microsoft Certified System Administrators ($49,547), Cisco Certified Network Administrator ($49,428), and finally, Network+ ($46,246). While an RHCE is not on the same skill level as Network+, these figures provide a pretty positive case for the value of IT certifications in the workplace.
