Sun Certification Now Integrated With Oracle Certification Program

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Effective September 1, Sun certifications have been republished and re-branded under the Oracle certification program.

If you achieve a Java, Oracle Solaris, MySQL or OpenOffice certification after September 1, you will receive a new Oracle Certification title. If you are in the process of preparing for an exam, rest assured that the format and objectives of these exams will not be changing and your voucher(s), will still be valid through the expiration date and redeemable at prometric.com. If you are currently Sun Certified, your certification with the Sun Certification title, will be fully recognized under the Oracle program.

If you are considering a certification, wait no more! These credentials will continue to be some of the highest recognized achievements in the industry. Learn more!

Non-Proctored Exams: A Quick Start on Your Oracle DBA Certification

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Non-Proctored Exams

If you are an Oracle DBA and have considered becoming certified (but have not begun yet), did you know that there is simple way to get started? The first steps toward an Oracle DBA certification is a non-proctored foundational SQL test. A non-proctored test means that you don’t have to go into the testing center but can take it at home or in the office. There are other exam requirements (there is one additional center-based test required for OCA), but this is a good way to familiarize yourself with the types of questions, level of difficulty and style of our exam questions.

Regardless of your level of competency I encourage you to review the exam details page for the track you wish to pursue. We provide the exam topics/objectives on this page, and by reviewing the objectives – you will be able to decide how much you will need to study before trying the test. Please note that there are DBA certifications for Oracle 9i, Database 10g and Database 11g, so be sure to review the requirements for the version applicable to you. When you are ready to take the test, visit pearsonvue.com/oracle.
