Cisco Learning Network Recaps a Year of Reporting About Cybersecurity

Continuing in the established vein of All That Great Stuff That We Wrote for You Guys recap articles, Cisco Learning Network wants to remind regular readers that it maintained a steady flow of cybersecrity reportage over the past year. Earlier today, product manager Tom Gilheany took to CLN's Talking Tech with Cisco blog to look back across the highlights of all that information security sagacity. For example, on Jan. 22, the Cisco cybersecurity team posted the results of the mother company's Annual Security Report, directing particular attention to the rapid proliferation of ransomware. In June, another major development broke when Cisco announced a worldwide push to recruit cybersecurity professionals with the establishment of its Global Cybersecurity Scholarship program. And so it went, and so it went (and so did you, soon, Billy Joel supposes). Gilheany recaps 16 articles in all, which is either a timely coincidence, or a subtle wink at the number that shall not come again until we've made it to the 22nd century.

Oracle Certification Proposes Bold Solution for Last-Second Holiday Shoppers

Some of you out there, whether by reason of laziness or through some inescapable urge to procrastinate, have still not squared away your seasonal gift-giving arrangements. If you still have a few (or many) items to finalize, and there are certified IT professionals on your shopping list, then Oracle Certification wants to be your holiday lifeline. In that Blue Light Special, "Attention, K-Mart shoppers" sort of way, Oracle Certification blogger Brandye Barrington took a few moments at the end of last week to direct frazzled (and not-yet-frazzled) shoppers' attention to the possibility of purchasing exam vouchers from Oracle Certification. It's the ultimate stocking stuffer for the hard-to-please nose-to-the-grindstone types on your list who are dedicated to continuous learning and self-improvement. And if your loved one doesn't particularly cotton to database technology, or Java programming, or any of the other Oracle specializations, well, it's still a good idea. Just find out what the next test on the hit list is, and get a voucher from that program. Nothing says Merry Christmas like knowing that the next big exam has already been paid for.
