CompTIA Rubs Its 2018 Crystal Ball

Fly dude with crystal ballPredicting the future is a popular exercise each time that the calendar turns over from one year to the next. And what do you know, here we are again. The brand new quarterly issue of Certification Magazine has a 2018 predictions piece, and there are plenty of other examples out there. Over at the IT Career News blog of tech industry association CompTIA, a post at the end of last week rattled off 10 things for anyone with an interest in CompTIA to be on the lookout for in 2018. To be sure, CompTIA is limiting the scope of its watchlist to things that the organization itself is planning to set forth in 2018, so it's not really as exciting as if they'd actually gone out on a limb with some educated guesses. Sometimes you get what you pay for, however, and we're thinking that most of you probably don't pay very much to read CompTIA's blog. At any rate, among the things to be watching for are CompTIA's latest security certification, the PenTest+; the new "stackable" certification that someone somewhere may have told you about already; the 20th anniversary of CompTIA's Creating IT Futures charitable foundation (which does some pretty cool work); and much more. Give the list a read!
