Certification Summary:
For individuals who identify and manage risks through the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate information systems (IS) controls. The first CRISC exam will be administered in the second half of 2011.
Initial requirements:
You must prove that you have at least 5 years of IT or business experience including at least 3 years of experience in the CRISC focus areas. Then you must pass the CRISC exam and agree to adhere to the ISACA code of ethics. The exam is given only twice a year.
Continuing requirements:
Maintenance fees and a minimum of 20 contact hours of CPE are required annually. In addition, a minimum of 120 contact hours is required during a fixed 3-year period. Upon completing the requirements for initial certification, the CRISC will be provided with the CPE policy booklet for detailed criteria to be used in developing a personal CPE program.
