Certification Summary:
For individuals who design simple routed LAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN networks with fewer than 100 nodes that utilize Cisco routers and switches.

Initial requirements: certification training requirement

You must pass Designing Cisco Networks (DCN) exam 641-861. You must also sign the Cisco Career Certifications Agreement. The exam costs $125.

Continuing requirements:
You must recertify every three years by taking the same exam. Alternatively, if a recertification candidate passes any new exam at the professional or Cisco Qualified Specialist level, the candidate will also be considered recertified at the CCDA level. Passing any CCIE written exam will recertify Cisco Qualified specialist, associate and professional level certifications.
