Certification Summary:
For computer professionals who wish to demonstrate internetworking expertise. This top-of-the-line certification is for individuals who work specifically with Cisco products. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) is the highest level of technical networking certification offered by Cisco.

Initial requirements:
There are six tracks to choose from: Routing and Switching, Security, Service Provider, Storage Networking, Voice, and Wireless. You must first pass a two-hour written qualification exam ($350) and then the corresponding eight-hour hands-on lab exam ($1400) for your chosen track. Training is available but not required.

Continuing requirements:
You must complete one CCIE or CCDE written exam within the 24 month period immediately preceding your current recertification deadline. Having an active CCIE or CCDE certification automatically extends your active Associate, Professional, Specialist, and Expert level certification(s) up to the point of expiration of the last certification achieved.
