Certification Summary:
For individuals who demonstrate competencies in infrastructure IP networking solutions. This includes IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS.
Initial requirements:
You must hold a valid CCNA certification. You must then pass four exams: Building Scalable Cisco Networks (BSCI) or Composite (BSCI and BCMSN); Implementing Cisco Quality of Service (QoS); Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers (BGP); and Implementing Cisco MPLS (MPLS).
You can choose to take the BGP + MPLS exam in place of the Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers (BGP); and Implementing Cisco MPLS (MPLS), shortening the path to certification by one exam.
The Composite (BSCI and BCMSN) exam is $300. All other exams are $150 each. Training is available but not required.
Continuing requirements:
Certification is valid for three years. To recertify, pass any 642 exam that is part of the professional level curriculum or any CCIE/CCDE written exam before the certification expiration date.
