Certification Summary:
For individuals who install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. This includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2),VLANs, Ethernet, access control lists (ACLs).
Initial requirements:
You must pass the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) EXAM ($250) or pass both the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 exam ($125) and the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 exam ($125). Training is available but not required.
Continuing requirements:
Certifications is valid for three years. To recertify, either pass the current CCNA exam, or pass the ICND2 exam, or pass any 642 professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE written exam.
