Certification Summary: This designation is for individuals who install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and Dial Access Services that utilize Cisco routers and switches, for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. This is the next step after CCNA certification.
Initial requirements: Must hold CCNA. You must also pass four more exams: Building Scalable Cisco Interetworks (BSCI); Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN); Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks (ISCW) OR Building Cisco Remote Access Networks (BCRAN - through 12/31/06); and Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks (ONT) OR Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting Support (CIT through 12/31/06).You must also agree to the Cisco Career Certifications and Confidentiality Agreement.
Alternatively you can elect to take the composite exam in place of the BSCI and BCMSN exams, shortening the path to certification by one exam.
Continuing requirements:
Must recertify every 3 years. To recertify pass any Cisco professional-level certification exam or CCIE written exam.
