Certification Summary:
For individuals who wish to demonstrate expertise in Cisco IOS security including topics such as IOS Network Foundation Protections (NFP), IOS One-Step Lockdown, IOS Classic and Zone-Based Firewalls, IOS IPSec and SSL VPNs and IOS IPS.

Initial requirements: certification training requirement

As a prerequisite, you must hold a valid CCNA certification. In addition, you must pass two exams ($125 each). The first is Securing Cisco Network Devices and the second isSecuring Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches.

Continuing requirements:
Must recertify every 2 years by passing the current version of the Specialist exams.
