Certification Summary:
For individuals who wish to demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing Cisco secure networks. This includes secure VPN management, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM), PIX firewall, Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Cisco Security Agent (CSA), and techniques to combine these technologies in a single, integrated network security solution.
Initial requirements:
You must already hold Cisco's CCNA certification, plus pass 5 additional exams as follows: Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (642-502 SNRS); Securing Networks with PIX and ASA (642-522 SNPA); Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (642-532 IPS); Securing Hosts Using Cisco Security Agent (642-513 HPS); Securing Cisco Network Devices (642-551 SND). Exams cost $125 each. You must also sign the Cisco Career Certifications Agreement.
Continuing requirements:
Must recertify every 3 years by completing one of the following options: pass the current Cisco SAFE Implementation Exam, pass any CCIE written exam, or achieve the CCIE certification.
