Certification Summary:
For individuals who plan, design, implement, and operate an Enterasys Secure NetworksTM infrastructure. Networking professionals can demonstrate the skills required to run secure enterprise infrastructures to meet the ever changing security, business needs and requirements.
Initial requirements:
There are three Enterasys Certified Internetworking Engineer paths to choose from: ECIE for Infrastructure (ECIE-C), ECIE for Dragon (ECIE-D) and ECIE for Network Access Control (ECIE-N). Each path requires prior certification and one additional training course and exam.
To obtain the ECIE for Infrastructure certification, you must hold the Enterasys Systems Engineer (ESE) certification. You must then attend the Implementation and Operation - Connectivity training course and pass the exam at the end of the course ($2500).
To obtain the ECIE for Dragon (ECIE-D) certification you must hold the Enterasys Security Systems Engineer-Dragon (ESSE-D) certification. You must then attend the Implementation and Operation – Advanced Dragon Security Command Console (DSCC) training course and pass the exam at the end of the course ($2500).
To obtain the ECIE for Network Access Control (ECIE-N) certification you must hold the Enterasys Security Systems Engineer-Network Access Control (ESSE-N) certification. You must then attend the Implementation and Operation – Advanced Network Access Control (NAC) training course and pass the exam at the end of the course ($2500).
Each training course requires 1 Enterasys Service Unit and each ESU costs $2500.
Continuing requirements:
You must recertify within 24 months by attending the appropriate Implementation and Operation course and successfully passing the associated exam. All ECIE levels supersede previous certifications and will be the only certification that will need to be maintained. For example, when an ESE certifies as ECIE-C, they will only need to maintain the ECIE-C certification and not recertify as an ESE.
