Certification Summary:
For advanced developers who design and develop leading-edge enterprise solutions by using Microsoft development tools and technologies in addition to the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. Necessary exams for this certification have been retired and this designation can no longer be achieved. MCSD certifications that have already been earned will remain valid.

Initial requirements:
Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for Microsoft .NET candidates should have two years of experience developing and maintaining solutions and applications. MCSD for Microsoft .NET candidates are required to pass four core exams ($75 each) and one elective exam ($75 or $125 each). The core exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise in developing and maintaining enterprise applications that are based on Microsoft development tools, technologies, and platforms on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1.
Training is available but not required.

Continuing requirements:
Your certification will expire when mainstream support for the related technology is no longer available.
