Certification Summary:
For individuals who wish to demonstrate comprehensive skills in planning, deploying, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing IT infrastructures. Earn the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) credential so you can highlight your field of expertise. Now you can distinguish yourself as an IT professional with the current skills and proven job-role capabilities to work effectively with a comprehensive set of Microsoft technologies.
Initial requirements:
There are currently 12 MCITP tracks to choose from: MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer, Business Intelligence Developer 2008, Consumer Support Technician, Database Developer, Database Developer 2008, Database Administrator, Database Administrator 2008, Enterprise Messaging Administrator, Enterprise Project Management with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, Enterprise Support Technician, Enterprise Administrator and Server Administrator.
Each certification requires passing between one and five exams. You are required to pass either one or two Professional Series exams and up to four MCTS exams ($125 each). Some of the MCITP certifications also require Prerequisite MCTS certification. Training is available but is not required.
Continuing requirements:
Certification will retire when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology.
