Certification Summary:
For individuals who target specific technologies and want to distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and expertise in Microsoft specialized technologies. An MCTS is consistently capable of implementing, building, troubleshooting, and debugging a particular Microsoft technology.
Initial requirements:
There are currently about 50 tracks to choose from, including .NET Framework, BizTalk Server 2006, Designing and Providing Volume Licensing Solutions, Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft System Center and Windows, Windows Server Virtuliazation, Sharepoing Services Application Development, and Small Business Server 2008, among others.
You are required to pass either one or two exams depending on the designation you choose. Exams are $125 each. Training is available but is not required.
Continuing requirements:
Your certification will expire once mainstream support for the related technology is no longer available.
