For individuals who maintain and optimize an installation of one or more MySQL servers, and perform administrative tasks such as monitoring the server, making backups, and so forth.

Initial requirements: certification training requirement

You must pass two exams: MySQL DBA I and MySQL DBA II. Each exam costs $200. There is also a one exam upgrade path for those who hold MySQL 4 Professional certification.

Continuing requirements:
Must update when the version of MySQL you are certified on becomes obsolete.
