Certification Summary:
For technicians who can describe the features and functions of networking components and manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, operate and configure basic network infrastructure.
Initial requirements:
Must pass the Network+ exam ($239). The exam contains 100 questions and is graded on a scale of 100 - 900. A passing score of 720 is required. Training is available but not required.
Continuing requirements:
If you earn or have earned this certification before Dec 31, 2010, your certification never has to be renewed and stays valid for life. As of January 1, 2011, certifications earned are valid for 3 years and must be renewed to remain valid after that, either by passing the most current exam for the certification or by earning credits through CompTIA’s upcoming continuing education program.
