Certification Summary:
For individuals who install, maintain, troubleshoot, and fine-tune all aspects of an Oracle database. Oracle certified database administrators keep an Oracle database environment running at maximum efficiency.

Initial requirements:
There are several options to choose from to become an Oracle Database Certified Professional.

11g track:
You must first become an Oracle 11g Database Certified Associate. You must then complete one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses and pass the Oracle Database 11g: Administration II exam ($50 beta). Last, you must submit the Hands On Course Requirement Form to become an Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional.

10g track:
You must first become an Oracle 10g Database Certified Associate. You must then complete one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses and pass the Oracle Database 10g: Administration II exam ($125). Last, you must submit the Hands On Course Requirement Form to become an Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Professional.

9i track:
You must first become an Oracle 9i Database Certified Associate. You must then complete one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses and pass both the Oracle9i Database Fundamentals II exam ($125) and the Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning exam ($125). Last, you must submit the Hands On Course Requirement Form.
There is also a Oracle Applications Database Administrator certification available. You must first be an Oracle 10g or 11g Database Administrator OCP and pass the Oracle E-Business Suite R12: Install, Patch and Maintain Applications exam ($195).

Continuing requirements:
Oracle will periodically announce requirements for recertification based on the release of new products and upgrades.
