Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)

Certification Summary:
For Information transport systems (ITS) professionals who have knowledge in the design, implementation and integration of information transport systems and related infrastructure.

Initial requirements:
You must have a minimum of two years ITS/distribution design experience including commercial, campus and multi family buildings and submit 3 letters of reference You must also complete the RCDD application and submit an application fee ($495). There is a discount for BICSI members.

You also have the option of adding a specialty to your certification. This requirers you pass an additional exam and pay additional fees. Training is available but not required.

Continuing requirements:
You must recertify every three years by obtaining a minimum of 45 BICSI continuing education credits (CECs) of technical ITS training (within a three-year registration period after the exam is passed). Continuing education requirements for RCDDs must include a conference attendance. The renewal fee is $275 for nonmenbers.
