Certification Summary:
For individuals who assess and identify project risks and mitigate threats.
Initial requirements:
You must possess a high school diploma, Associate's degree or equivalent; have at least 4,500 hours spent in the specialized area of professional project risk management within the last five consecutive years; and have 40 contact hours of formal contact education in the specialized area of project risk management. Alterntely, you must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent; have at least 3,000 hours spent in the specialized area of professional project risk management within the last five consecutive years; and have 30 contact hours of formal contact education in the specialized area of project risk management.
You must pass the PMI-RMP exam ($670). The exam has a 3.5 hour time limit and consists of 170 questions.
There is a discount for PMI members.
Continuing requirements:
You must complete at least 60 professional development units every 3 years and pay a renewal fee ($150).
