Summary:
For individuals who want to specialize in recording and managing personal medical information, as well as analyzing and interpreting patient data. Analysts help process medical data to deliver accurate, consistent and timely information.

Initial Requirements:
This certification requires completion of the Certified Health Data Analyst Exam ($329; $70 discount for AHIMA members) with a minimum score of 300 out of 400. Before taking the exam, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria: 1) associate's degree with at least 5 years of healthcare data experience, 2) RHIT certification or bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of healthcare data experience, 3) RHIA certification or advanced academic degree (master's, Ph.D., M.D., J.D.) with at least 1 year of healthcare data experience.

Continuing Requirements:
Must be renewed every two years by completing 30 continuing education units and paying a $150 fee.
