Summary:
For senior level Linux administrators. This is the highest level of LPIC certification and is for individuals with advanced experience installing and maintaining Linux on a number of computers for various purposes. This includes using LDAP to integrate with Unix and Windows services, and planning, architecting, designing, building and implementing a full environment using Samba and LDAP as well as measuring the capacity planning and security of the services.

Initial Requirements:
You must first hold LPIC-2 certification. In addition, you must pass the LPIC-3 core exam ($260). It tests skills in authentication, troubleshooting, network integration and capacity planning.

Once you have passed the core exam, you may opt to add a specialty by passing an additional exam ($173).

Currently available specialty exams include:
- Mixed Environment
- Security
- Virtualization and High Availability

Additional specialties are planned for the future.

Continuing Requirements:
You must recertify within 5 years after receiving your certification designation. To recertify, you must pass all of the current exams that are required for your highest earned certification designation.
