Summary:
For individuals who implement, manage, and troubleshoot existing network and system environments environments running on the Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003 operating system. There is a new Microsoft MCSA certification - it has the same acronym, but is completely different in nature.

Initial Requirements:
The MCSA and MCSE Windows 2000 Server certifications were retired on December 31, 2011. The MCSA and MCSE Windows Server 2003 exams and corresponding certifications will be retired on July 31, 2013. After July 31, 2013, these certifications will be retired, but the MCSA: Windows Server 2008 certification will remain in market.

Previously, earning MCSA on Windows Server 2003 certification required passing four exams: two core exams on networking systems, one core exam on client operating systems and one elective exam. Exams cost $150 each.




Continuing Requirements:
The MCSA on Windows Server 2003 certification will not retire, but it will be moved to legacy status, which will be indicated on your certification transcript.
