Summary:
For individuals who design cloud infrastructures based on VMware products, including,conceptual, logical, and physical design, security and availability design, extended cloud design, metering and compliance, and vApp design.
Initial Requirements:
You must hold one of the following prerequisite certifications and also pass the VCAP-CID exam. The prerequisite certifications are:
VMware Certified Professional 5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV)
VMware Certified Professional – Cloud (VCP-Cloud)
VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 – Data Center Administration (VCAP5-DCA)
VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 – Data Center Design (VCAP5-DCD)
VMware Certified Design Expert 5 – Data Center Virtualization (VCDX5-DCV)
The VCAP-CID exam has not been released in final format yet. Most VCAP exams cost $400.
Training is available but not required.
