CompTIA Named One of the Best Places to Work in Illinois for Seventh Straight Year

May 21, 2017Downers Grove, Ill. – For the seventh consecutive year CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association, has been selected as one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois by the Daily Herald Business Ledger.

CompTIA placed eighth in the medium employer category for organizations with 100 to 499 employees. The awards were presented at a May 18th ceremony in Glen Ellyn, Ill.

A total of 76 companies from across the state were recognized with Best Places to Work in Illinois honor. The annual program identifies Illinois businesses whose work environments benefit its workforce, business and the state economy.

The program, now in its 11th year, is hosted by the Daily Herald Business Ledger in partnership with the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago, Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, MRA-The Management Association, Small Business Advocacy Council, Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce, and the Best Companies Group.

A two-step evaluation process is used to determine whether organizations qualify for the award. The first part consists of an evaluation of each company’s workforce policies, practices and demographics. The second part involves an employee survey to measure employee experience. The combined scores determine the top small businesses (15-99 employees), medium firms (100-499 employees) and large organizations (500 or more employees).

As the leading association for the technology industry, CompTIA has approximately 200 employees worldwide, including more than 100 in its Downers Grove headquarters. The nonprofit association has been based in Illinois since 1985; and at its current location in Downers Grove since December 2010.
