ISACA Welcomes New Chapter in Astana, Kazakhstan

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (7 December 2016)—Business technology professionals in Astana, Kazakhstan, have formed a new chapter of ISACA, a global professional association serving the audit, governance, security and risk professions. ISACA has more than 140,000 constituents in 187 countries. The ISACA Astana Chapter has about 30 members at its start, and is among 215 ISACA chapters in 93 countries.

ISACA Astana Chapter President David Tuganov, CGEIT, said the Astana chapter will prove influential in the region. Astana is the capital of Kazakhstan.

“Over the last decades, business in Astana is growing dramatically,” Tuganov said. “People all over Kazakhstan come to Astana looking for a job in sectors like IT, audit and security divisions, including headquarters of major companies. The younger generation also comes to Astana to pursue higher education. It would be fair to say that Astana is the most important city in Kazakhstan, and therefore there is no better place to form an ISACA chapter than here.”

The local business community, government, university students and others will benefit from ISACA resources and guidance, including its certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

  • Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)

  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)

  • CSX Practitioner (a skills-based cyber security certification offered through ISACA’s Cybersecurity Nexus [CSX])

Tuganov said the chapter will provide important educational and networking opportunities.

“We believe that official formation of local chapter will significantly increase the professional level of our community’s activities,” Tuganov said. “It will bring the globally recognized ISACA brand to Astana and help in our efforts to spread best practices. We will help everyone in the community to properly structure and enhance professional and career growth in the areas of IT governance, audit and cyber security.”

The new chapter plans a meeting in January to discuss activities for 2017. Officers of the ISACA Astana Chapter include:

  • President—David Tuganov, CGEIT

  • Vice President & Secretary—Arman Oramalov, CISA, CISM

  • Treasurer—Dilyara Issamadiyeva, CISA, CGEIT

  • Marketing & Communications Director—Almaz Amirzinov, CISA

  • Education Director—Yernar Suyerbayev, CISA, CRISC
