(ISC)² Appoints Three New Directors to Strengthen Leadership Team

Clearwater, Fla. (February 20, 2019) — (ISC)², the world’s largest nonprofit membership association of certified cybersecurity professionals, today announced the promotions of three new directors to its senior leadership team. They will help lead departments that are critical to the association’s goals of building and supporting the cybersecurity profession.

Mirtha Collin, Education director, previously served as senior manager of Education for (ISC)². Collin oversees (ISC)² Official courses and course materials to prep candidates for exams. Timothy Campo, CISSP, CISM, director of applications, architecture and security, previously served as senior manager of security for (ISC)². Campo is responsible for securing the association’s critical assets, guiding an in-house development team, and overseeing network architecture to deliver services to members and staff. He has more than 20 years of information and physical security, software development, and business experience in large and small companies.

His experience in the United States Navy enabled him to engage in multiple disciplines for worldwide operations with both military and civilian counterparts. Campo also previously served as vice president of security for CoreSite, where he was responsible for many aspects of information and physical security, as well as software development efforts.

Sommer Hess, director of project management, software quality assurance and IT training, previously served as senior manager of project execution for (ISC)². Hess is responsible for (ISC)²’s overall project management function, providing leadership, integration and management of processes and functions to improve the consistency and efficiency of services and applications for members and associates.

She oversees all aspects of quality and business improvement efforts for the association. Hess is an experienced portfolio and program manager with a history of working in the information technology, manufacturing and services industry. She previously worked for Raytheon as a manufacturing manager where she managed projects to streamline manufacturing and test communications for the United States Navy. Hess is a Certified Scrum Master, Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma Black Belt.

“Mirtha, Tim and Sommer have all made substantial contributions to the growth and success of our association and its members,” said Wesley Simpson, COO at (ISC)². “As we continue on our mission to inspire a safe and secure cyber world and increase our reach globally, it’s vital to have such strong and experienced leaders guiding our teams.”
