New Microsoft Trainer Certification

Microsoft has recently added a new certification to its web site: Microsoft Certified Learning Consultant (MCLC). The MCLC is for Microsoft Certified Trainers who design, develop, and deliver consultative learning solutions based on Microsoft technologies and products. There are no exams for this designation; instead you must submit a case study proving your consultative learning solution skills, along with a letter of attestation from the client profiled in the case study. New Java Associate Certification

Sun Microsystems has released a new exam - Sun Certified Associate for the Java Platform. This new title is for individuals who are beginning Java programmers, students, and program managers working with Java technology. This is a one exam certification. The exam costs $100. It covers object-oriented fundamentals, UML representation of object-oriented concepts, Java implementation of object-oriented concepts, algorithm design and implementation, and other topics. Cisco Security Exams Updated

Cisco has announced a revamped curriculum for the Cisco Certified Security Specialist and the Cisco Qualified Specialist security certifications. The new CCSP curriculum includes coverage of firewalls, secure remote access, intrusion prevention, and other key assets to create a converged security platform. There are still five exams required, but they are all new. They are: -

  • Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (642-502 SMRS)
  • Securing Networks with PIX and ASA (642-522 SNPA)
  • Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (642-532 IPS)
  • Securing Hosts Using Cisco Security Agent (642-513 HPS)
  • Securing Cisco Network Devices (642-551 SND)
Candidates have until December 19, 2005 to register for the old exams. After that, only the new exams will be available. The same new exams are used for the Qualified Specialist titles.

New CompTIA CDIA+ Exam Available

The new 2005 version of the CDIA+ exam is available as of September 30, 2005. The new exam reflects changing job tasks and knowledge requirements for professionals in the document imaging and management field. Individuals who already hold CDIA+ certification are not affected by this new exam.

CWSP Exam to be Updated

The Planet3Wireless Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP) exam will be updated on January 2nd, 2006. Candidates who want to take the current exam should do so before December 31, 2005. The new blueprint is available online.
