Newest Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist Certification Ready

The latest MCTS designation from Microsoft is Technology Specialist: Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 (MCTS: MLCS 2005). MCTS candidates must pass one exam that measures their ability to plan, implement, configure, and manage, a Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 environment. This brings the total number of MCTS tracks currently available to six. For full details on this newest option, see this Microsoft Web page.

Novell CLP 10 and CLE 10 Are Here

Right on schedule, Novell has released the exams for the Novell Certified Linux Professional 10 and Novell Certified Linux Engineer 10. These new designations cover SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, and each requires that candidates pass a hands on practicum. You must earn the CLP before you can earn the CLE.

Redesigned Hyperion Certification Program Launched

Earlier this month Hyperion Solutions launched a newly designed certification program that will certify expertise with Hyperion's business process management products. The new program follows the popular three tier model, offering entry level, intermediate, and advanced options. The first level features the Hyperion Certified Developer and Hyperion Certified Administrator tracks. The midlevel option is Hyperion Certified Consultant. At the top level, the designation is Hyperion Certified Solutions Architect.

CWNE Ready to Go, CWAP Slated for Retirement

The long pending Certified Wireless Networking Expert (CWNE) designation that is the capstone of the certified wireless networking professional (CWNP) program is now open for business. The CWNE designation certifies expertise with 802.11 technology, regardless of which vendor's equipment is being used. Through the end of this year, candidates who already hold CWNA, CSWP, and CWAP certifications can go ahead and apply without taking any additional exams. The CWAP designation is being retired at the end of this year, so after January 1, 2007, you will have to pass the CWNA, CWSP, and CWNE exams as well as complete the application.

New IBM Security Certification

IBM has just released a new designation for Notes and Domino 7 professionals. The new certification is named IBM Certified Advanced Security Professional - Notes and Domino 7. The single exam for this designation is Exam 755: IBM Lotus Notes Domino 7 Implementing and Administering Security. You must first be an IBM Certified Administrator for Lotus Notes and Domino 7 before you can earn this title.

NetCache Certifications to be Discontinued

All of Network Appliance's NetCache related certifications-NAC-NA and NAC-NIE-will retire on September 8, 2006. All those who are pursuing these certifications should complete the process by this date. After the retirement date, the NetCache exams will no longer be available.
