Microsoft Office Specialist 2010 Launching

Certification on Microsoft Office 2010 is rolling into test centers, allowing individuals to get certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and other Microsoft applications. As we reported earlier, the MCAS name has been retired and MOS returns as the name of choice for these certifications. For requirements for MOS certification on different versions of Office, visit GoCertify's MOS certification page.

Cisco Adds Emeritus Status for CCIEs

Cisco Systems recently announced the creation of the CCIE Emeritus designation for CCIEs who have been certified for 10 years or more and want to stay involved in the program but perhaps not keep taking the renewal exams required to maintain active CCIE status. The program, which will start on August 1, 2010, requires candidates to complete an application and pay an $85 annual fee. Benefits include access to the CCIE forums and use of the CCIE Emeritus logo, among other benefits. For complete details, see Cisco's CCIE Emeritus page.

The new VCAP level will begin with data center administrator (VCAP DCA) and developer (VCAP DCD) tracks. Exam registration is scheduled to open shortly, and you can sign up on the VMWare website to receive an e-mail alert when it's available.
