Pearson VUE Acquires Certiport

Pearson VUE has made frequent appearances in IT certification news of late as a parade of IT certification vendors drop Prometric as a testing outlet and go exclusively with Pearson VUE. Now Pearson VUE has made another move, acquiring Certiport, which manages foundational-level certifications targeted at academic markets. The Certiport portfolio includes Microsoft Technology Associate and HP Accredited Technical Associate, among others. Cisco to add CCIE Data Center in September, Beta Available Until June 15

Cisco recently announced that it will add an expert-level CCIE credential for IT pros who implement and troubleshoot complex data center networks. A beta version of the written portion will be available through June 15, 2012, for the bargain price of $50. Visit Cisco’s website for exam objectives and to sign up.

Updated Brocade BCNE and BCNP Exams Coming in July

HP Launches New Solutions Architect Certification

The new HP ASE - Server Solutions Architect V8 focuses on HP ProLiant Generation 8 (Gen8) server systems and HP Integrity. Upgrade paths from APC - HP Integrity Servers [2010] and from APC - HP ProLiant Server Solutions [2010] certifications are available. Detailed requirements available on the HP website.

(ISC)2 Certification Exams Complete Move to Computer-Based Testing

The paper-based exam administration system that (ISC)2 has adhered to for years is history.  From now on, candidates for CISSP, SSCP, ISSAP, ISSEP, and ISSMP IT security certification exams can take all exams through Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide.
