New Certification: Cisco Content Networking SpecialistThe latest designation in the line of Cisco Specialist certifications is designed to demonstrate expertise with content edge delivery, content distribution and management, content switching, and content routing utilizing, of course, Cisco solutions. Candidates must hold a CCNP or CCIP certification plus pass two additional exams: Building Cisco Content Networking Solutions Exam (CN 640-925), and Cisco Content Networking Specialist v1.1 Exam (9E0-600). Associated training is available through Cisco.Novell Revamps Certification ProgramAfter much market research and internal deliberation, Novell Corporation has substantially revamped its entire certification program. The result is a streamlined, straightforward program with all the familiar titles, but no tracks or electives to complicate the picture. For the full story on this change and the rationale behind it, the full GoCertify article.SAGE Certification Program Goes LiveThe first level of the new SAGE certification program is now available in VUE testing centers worldwide. cSAGE is a multi-vendor certification intended for junior level systems administrators. To earn the certification you must pass a core exam and a platform specific module. Currently the UNIX module is available. Additional modules, including one for MS Windows, will be released later this year. Exams cost $225 each.IEEE Certified Software Development ProfessionalLooking for a software development certification that's vendor neutral? The IEEE Computer Society's Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) may be what you're looking for. But, you're going to need some education and experience under your belt and $600 in your bank account before you can even apply to take the exam. Candidates must hold a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree, plus have at least 9,000 hours of software engineering experience in specified knowledge areas. You must provide evidence of this along with your application form and a $100 fee to receive an authorization that allows you to take the exam at a Prometric testing center. The exam itself costs $500 ($350 if you're an IEEE member). Get the intricate (and we do mean intricate) details on the IEEE Web site.Page 1 of 2 1 2
