Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional To Launch Dec 12

Juniper Networks has announced plans to add a new certification to its Juniper Networks Technical Certification Program (JNTCP) starting December 12, 2002. The new title, Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP), is designed to validate a candidate's ability to configure and troubleshoot common routing scenarios.

To earn this title, candidates must pass an 8 hour hands on exam, which requires them to build a fully functional ISP network consisting of 10 M-series platform routers. After performing basic system and interface configuration, candidates implement an IGP, interior and exterior BGP, and routing policy.

The addition of the JNCIP title expands the Juniper Networks certification program from three levels to four. The JNCIP exam costs $1250 and is only available at Juniper Networks locations.

The JNCIP title will become the new prerequisite to the most advanced Juniper Networks title: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE). The original JNCIE exam, which spans two days, will be retired December 12, 2002 and replaced with a new one day, 8 hour format.
