Nortel Networks Certified Support Specialist - CallPilot 2.0 Exam Beta
The new CallPilot 2.0 (#921-156) certification exam, one of the requirements for NNCSS - VoIP CallPilot 2.0 certification, begins beta testing January 23. You can register now to take this beta any time between January 23 and February 13 through Prometric at www.2test.com. The first 50 candidates take this exam for free. To get your free exam, enter promotion code 921156 when prompted.

IBM to Reorganize Certifications, Expand Testing Availability
IBM has announced plans to reorganize its software certifications around six job roles: Administrator (Database and System); Developer (Application and Solution); Implementer/Integrator (Deployment Professional); Advisor (Sales); Designer; and Instructor. A three-level skill hierarchy will be established within the role structure to designate experience levels. Full details are not yet available. In other IBM news, IBM tests are now available through VUE as well as Prometric.

Novell to Replace CDE Exam
Novell has announced to plans to replace it Certified Directory Engineer (CDE) practicum in the second quarter of 2003. A beta version of the new exam will debut at Brainshare 2003 < http://www.novell.com/brainshare/index.html>, which will take place in Salt Lake City, April 13-18th.

LPI Administers 20,000th Exam
The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) reports that it administered over 20,000 exams by the end of 2002, doubling the total they announced just last April. That translates to approximately 6,000 Linux Professional Institute Certified (LPIC) professionals.
