Cisco Releases New CCIE Track, Beta Now Available

On March 3, Cisco released the beta version of the qualifying exam portion of a new CCIE track for Voice Over IP. The new qualifying exam (351-030 CCIE Voice) will be available in beta format from March 17 - April 23, 2003 for a reduced cost of $50 (regularly $300). The corresponding lab exam is slated for release later this summer. The other three currently available CCIE tracks are Routing and Switching; Communications and Services; and Security. The qualifying exams are available through Prometric and Pearson VUE testing centers.

IBM DB2 V8.1 Exams, Free Tutorials Available

The newest IBM DB2 UDB certification exams have hit testing centers. The V8.1 exams are available for multiple certification levels, including the Database Associate, Database Administrator, Application Developer, and Solution Designer titles. For a limited time, individuals who are already certified as an IBM Certified Solutions Expert -- DB2Ž UDB V7.1 Database Administration for UNIX, Linux and Windows, can upgrade to V8.1 for only $60 by passing a 30 question update exam (Exam 706). A six part tutorial covering IBM DB2 V8 fundamentals has also been posted on the IBM Web site.

Nortel Networks releases new VoIP BCM 3.0 certification

You can now earn Nortel Networks Support Specialist (NNCSS) certification in VoIP - BCM 3.0 by passing the newly available VoIP exam, BCM 3.0 (#920-126). This exam covers hardware, voice, data networking, applications, VoIP, troubleshooting, maintenance and management topics for CallPilot Unified Messaging, CallPilot Manager, LAN CTE, and BCM 3.0.

NNCSS - VoIP BCM 3.0 certification also requires the completion of the VoIP Technology (#920-801) exam. These exams are proctored by Prometric.
