Sybase Adds Replication Server Certification, Goes to Single Level
The Sybase Certified Professional Program has expanded to include a new title: Replication Server Administrator. The new certification is appropriate for individuals who are Database Administrators, Replication Server Application Developers, Replication Server System Administrators, and Data Application Designers. It requires passing a single exam of the same name. Passing score is 61% and the cost (in the US) is $150.
The Sybase Certified Professional certification program, which has historically offered two levels of certification (associate and professional), is migrating to a single-level format. Because the "Professional Level" Adaptive Server Administrator exam focused on high-end performance and tuning, its audience was small, with 90% of test takers choosing the other DBA exam. To better serve this core DBA audience, Sybase has decided to stick with a single level exam format for all future exams.
Planet3Wireless CWSP Exam to Go Live April 15

Individuals who wish to earn CWSP certification must first hold the CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) certification. The CWSP exam will be available through Prometric testing centers worldwide.
SAS Exam Update
The SAS Base Programming, Advanced Programming, and Warehouse Development Specialist exams are now available in final (production) format. A new exam, SAS webAF Server-side Application Development, has just begun its beta period, and is available through Prometric testing centers. The beta price is just $75, while the final production exams cost $150 each.
See the SAS Web site for full details.
Nortel Networks releases New Meridian 1 Database exams for VoIP certification
All Nortel Networks Enterprise VoIP Specialist certifications (except BCM 3.0) require the successful completion of a Meridian 1 Database exam. The existing Meridian 1 Database exam (920-318) was retired March 28, 2003.
Effective April 1, all Design Specialist certifications require the Meridian 1 Database - Design Specialist (920-319) exam, and all Support Specialist certifications require the Meridian 1 Database - Support Specialist (920-320) exam. These new, separate exams cover more specific tasks for each job role and include new content.
Candidates who have already successfully completed the 920-318 exam prior to its retirement March 28 received credit for that exam toward VoIP Specialist certification and will not need to take the new exam.
Complete details can be found on the Nortel Networks Certification Web site.
