Top Level Citrix MetaFrame Certification Launched
Citrix has announced the launch of its Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) designation. The tough new CCIA requirements include a six hour hands-on lab exam administered at Citrix Worldwide Headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Candidates will also have to pass Microsoft design exam as part of the certification. Currently acceptable Microsoft exams include:
- Exam 70-219: Designing a Microsoft Windows® 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure
- Exam 70-220: Designing Security for a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network
- Exam 70-221: Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure
- Exam 70-226: Designing Highly Available Web Solutions with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Technologies
- Exam 70-297: Designing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003™ Active Directory® and Network Infrastructure
- Exam 70-298: Designing Security for a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network
The rest of the CCIA track requires passing three Citrix exams as follows:
- Exam 222 - Citrix MetaFrame XP Presentation Server, Feature Release 3: Administration
Note: Exam 220 or Exam 221 will also satisfy this requirement for a limited time
- Exam 610 - Citrix Core Technologies and Architecture
- Exam 611 - Citrix Design, Integration and Methodology

New Contivity Security Support Expert Certification from Nortel Networks
You can now become a Nortel Networks Certified Support Expert (NNCSE) in Contivity Security. With the release of this certification, Nortel Networks now offers a complete suite of Security certification options, covering both pre-sales (Design) and post-sales (Support) roles.
In order to achieve this new Support Expert certification, you must hold the Nortel Networks Certified Support Specialist (NNCSS) - Contivity VPN Switch credential, plus successfully complete the Contivity Security (#920-449) exam. You should also have 6-12 months related work experience.

NetCache Associate and Professional Retirement Date Announced
Network Appliance's NetCache Certification Program will retire the NetCache Associate and Professional certifications effective February 29, 2004. All candidates pursuing their certification in either of these tracks will have three months from the announcement date to complete their certifications through Prometric. The four tier replacement certification program, which launched in 2003, is now in full operation.
Microsoft Certification Web Site Revamped
Microsoft has done a bit of reorganizing over the holidays, resulting in a new Microsoft Learning Web site that reflects the merging of three Microsoft business units into one. Microsoft Training & Certification, Microsoft Press, and Microsoft TechNet subscriptions are now combined into a single, Microsoft Learning business unit and Web site. Visit the new site here.
