Beta Opportunity: Sun Certified Programmer for J2SE 5.0

From January 13 through February 13, 2005, a beta version of the new Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 exam will be available at all worldwide Prometric authorized testing centers. Registration begins January 3, 2005. The beta costs is $49US and the exam number is 311-055. Unlike other Sun Microsystems certification exams, this exam does not require a voucher. Limited Seats for McData Beta Exams Available

Seats are available for 75 candidates to register to take the the updated McDATA Certified Storage Network Designer (207-304) and McDATA Certified Storage Network Implementer (207-354) beta exams at half price ($75). Exam takers will also receive a 50% off voucher toward their next exam. To register, email mccertification@mcdata.com right away.

Zend PHP Free Retake Month

Zend is advertising on its Web site that anyone who takes the Zend PHP exam during January 2005 and doesn't pass will get a free retake. Full info available from Zend.

Pervasive SQL Technician Available Free for Limited Time

According to the Pervasive Web site, the exam for the Certified Pervasive.SQL Technician will be available no charge until April 1, 2005. See the Pervasive Web site for full details.

Novell Announces 2006 CNI Continuing Certification Requirements

Individuals who currently hold the Certified Novell Instructor title must meet the following requirements by January 1, 2006: Must hold a current Novell certification (CNE on Netware 6, CLP, or SLE29 Novell CLE. You must also have a 2005 Certified Novell Salesperson or 2005 Certified Linux Salesperson certificate, and teach at least 1 authorized training course at a Novell Training Service Partner. Finally, you must maintain an average score of 8.25 - at a Novell Training Service Platinum or Gold Partner OR receive an 82% rating at a Novell Silver Training Partner (Academic). Radware Certification Available

Certification exams for Radware intelligent application switching certifications are now available through Pearson VUE, but you must first attend the associated course to be eligible to take an exam. Available titles include Radware Certified Application Specialist, Radware Certified Connectivity Specialist and Radware Certified Security Specialist. Exams cost $150. Several Cisco Exams Slated to Retire, be Replaced

Two Cisco IP Telephony exams will retire in February. 642-413 EVODD retires February 12, to be replaced by 642-414 IPTD. 642-443 CIPT retires February 4, to be replaced by 642-444 CIPT.

New: IBM Certified Specialist - eserver i5 iSeries Technical Solutions Implementer V5R3 (V5R2 retired)
New: IBM Certified Specialist - eserver i5 iSeries Single System Administrator V5R3
Retired: IBM Websphere exams covering V4.0 and 4.1. V5.0 and 5.1 exams are currently available.
