New Microsoft Certified Architect Credential Unveiled

At TechEd 2005, Microsoft announced a new Microsoft Certified Architect program that sets very high standards for successful certification. It is intended to identify top industry experts in IT architecture. These top experts will have at least 10 years of IT architecture experience, and be able to build and present solutions to complex business problems.

Mastery of many skills is mandated, including: leadership, technology depth, technology breadth, strategy (frameworks), the ability to understand and navigate organization dynamics, tactical/process skills, and communication skills. SAS Warehouse Exam Released

The SAS certified professional program has released the SAS Warehouse Technology exam, which is a required component to earn either the SAS Certified Warehouse Development Specialist or SAS Certified Warehouse Architect credentials. The exam covers setting up the warehouse environment, building the warehouse, and deploying and maintaining the warehouse. Exams are through Prometric.

CompTIA CDIA+ Beta Available

CompTIA has released a new beta exam for CDIA+. The new exam has been updated to reflect changing technologies and job tasks. The beta includes 95 questions and has a time limit of 120 minutes. The discounted price for this beta is $75. The CDIA+ exam was last updated in April 2002.

Free BCSM Beta Available

Brocade is offering its BCSM exam for free in beta format through July 8, 2005. The exam consists of 179 questions and lasts 4 hours. IBM Releases New Exams

IBM has launched several new exams. IBM Certified Advanced Application Developer - Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software V6.0 is for advanced level developers. IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Tivoli Provisioning Manager with Orchestration V3.1 is for individuals who are responsible for planning, installation, environment setup, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of the IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager with Orchestration V3.1 solution.
