New Microsoft Certifications Continue Rollout

Microsoft continues to rollout exams for the new Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist and Microsoft Certified IT Professional designations. All the exams necessary to earn the following designations are now live:

NCR Teradata Second Shot Promotion

Thomson Prometric and Teradata are offering individuals who take exams NR0-011 through NR0-017 a free retake. The initial exam must be taken by May 31, 2006, and the retake (which we hope you don't need!) by June 30, 2006. You must wait 14 calendar days (after the unsuccessful exam) before re-taking the same exam. To register for your free re-take exam, you must CALL a Thomson Prometric Regional Call Center. On-line registrations through Prometric.com will not be valid for this promotion.

Cisco CCIE Voice Labs to Update in July 2006

Starting July 17, 2006 CCIE will be adding a Cisco Unity Express Network Module (NM-CUE) into the exam racks, and updating to IOS version 12.4(3a). Other equipment software is also affected. For the full list see the CCIE Voice updates page.

LPI and Canonical to Launch Ubuntu Certification

The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) and Canonical Ltd. have announced plans to jointly develop a certification for the Ubuntu operating system. This new certification will be launched in Johannesburg, South Africa, May 16-19 2006 and will later become available around the world. The Ubuntu certification will consist of a single exam on top of LPI's existing 101 and 102 exams. This will give candidates the advantage of an existing global standard, LPIC-1, plus the "Ubuntu Certified Professional" status.

Deadlines for Free Pervasive PSQL v9 Exams Extended

Pervasive has extended the deadlines for taking the Certified PSQL v9 Technician and Certified PSQL v9 Developer exams until July 1, 2006. Normally the exams will cost $195.

New IBM Certifications

IBM continues to add to its long list of certification titles. This month's release is IBM Certified Deployment Professional - WebSphere Process Server V6.0. This is an intermediate-level certification for individuals who are responsible for product installation, configuration and deployment of business processes and adapters, connecting to back-end resources and basic troubleshooting.
