Solaris 10 OS Security Exam Live, SCBCD Developer 5 Beta Coming SoonThe exam that leads to the Sun Certified Security Administrator for Solaris 10 (CX 310 303) is now live. The exam contains 59 questions and has a passing score of 52%. Cost is $200.There is also a free beta exam coming soon for the Sun Certified Business Component Developer (SCBCD) for the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5.0. The beta period is planned for December 8, 2006 - January 2, 2007. Unlike other Sun exams, no voucher is required; simply register at the Prometric Web site.
CompTIA Convergence+ Beta AvailableCompTIA, vendors of the well known A+, Security+, and other certifications, has announced the release of the beta exam for its new Convergence+ designation. This certification recognizes expertise in analysis, implementation, and management of data, voice, and multimedia convergence applications. The beta exam (CT1-001) is intended for individuals with 18 to 24 months of experience in data networking, voice-over-IP and other related convergence technologies. Macromedia Certified Professional Program Now Adobe Certification ProgramAdobe Systems has completed its acquisition of Macromedia, and all former Macromedia certifications are now Adobe certifications. For the new list, see the Adobe certification home page.
Cisco Optical Specialist to RetireCisco Systems has announced that its Cisco Optical Specialist certification will retire on February 15, 2007, which is the last day the test will be available.
CWNA Exam to Change October 30The Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) exam will undergo a minor update on October 30, 2006. The exam is being updated to reflect the industry standard naming conventions now used by the IEEE. Also, obsolete hardware questions were removed and new hardware questions added.
