Recently Released Microsoft Exams

Microsoft recently released two more Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) exams. The new exams are MCTS, Microsoft Office Visio 2007, Application Development (exam 70-545), which is intended for individuals who use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft Office Visio 2007 to create data visualization solutions, and MCTS, Microsoft Forefront Client and Server - Configuration ( exam 70-557), which is for IT professionals who configure, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Forefront security technologies in medium to large computing environment.

New CCDP ARCH Exam Available

Cisco released an updated version of the Designing Cisco Network Service Architecture (ARCH) exam (642 873). The previous version of the exam will remain available until February 23, 2008.

CompTIA HTI+ Retired

CompTIA's home technology integrator (HTI+) retired as scheduled on September 30th. It has been replaced by the CEA-CompTIA Digital Home Technology Integrator+ (DHTI+) certification, which was created in conjunction with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Because CompTIA certifications do not require renewal, there is no formal requirement for current HTI+ certified individuals to take the DHTI+ exam.

Two More Lotus Notes Domino 8 Exams Available

Following closely on the heels of the release of the related developer exams, IBM has released two IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 System Administration core exams, Exam 847: IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 System Administration Operating Fundamentals and Exam 848: IBM Lotus Notes Domino 8 Building the Infrastructure. Passing the first one earns the associate system administrator designation and passing both earns the full professional level system administrator certification. Full details on available ND8 tracks can be found on the IBM Web site.

Symantec, Veritas Certification Program Merger

Symantec is updating its certification program to merge the and Veritas certification programs together in to a combined structure. As part of this, four new Symantec Certified Specialist exams will be released. The new specialist certifications will cover Veritas Storage Foundation 5.0 Administration, High Availability Solutions for UNIX using Veritas Cluster Server 5.0 Administration, Data Protection for UNIX using NetBackup 6.5 Administration , and Data Protection for Windows using NetBackup 6.5. The new exams will begin rolling out in beta format by the end of 2007. The new specialist exams will apply to both the specialist and professional levels of the Symantec Certification Program.
