Finalists announced in the 2014 BCS and Computing UK IT Industry Awards

5 September 2014

Lotus F1 team, BA, The Crown Estate and Cancer Research UK are among the organisations announced as finalists in the UK IT Industry Awards 2014. The annual Awards organised and run by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and Computing, are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.

Adam Thilthorpe, Director for Professionalism at the Institute, says: “As the Chartered Institute for IT I’d like to congratulate this year’s finalists. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit.”

The categories provide an opportunity for organisations and individuals involved in IT across the public, not for profit and commercial sectors. This year the Awards feature 24 categories covering project, organisation, technology and personal excellence and include awards such as Security Innovation of the Year, IT Department of the Year, Innovative Mobile App of the Year and CIO of the Year.

Finalists now face the second round of rigorous judging with an interview or presentation session in front of expert judges at the Madejski Stadium in early October as they compete for the title of winner in their category. The winners will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 12 November, at Battersea Park Arena.

Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing adds: “I would like to congratulate the finalists. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and to be announced as a finalist is a great achievement.”
