ISC2 Launches Instructor-Led Online Review Seminars for Secure Software Certification

Registration Open Now for Live OnLine Review Seminars for Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP®)

PALM HARBOR, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(ISC)(“ISC-squared”), the not-for-profit global leader in educating and certifying information security professionals throughout their careers with more than 71,000 credentials issued to 66,000 members worldwide, today announced that registration for Live OnLine Official CBK Review Seminars® for its Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP®) certification is now available, with the first session running April 26 through June 30.

Taught by (ISC)2-authorized instructors with years of experience in secure software development, Live OnLine allows participants to gain industry knowledge without incurring travel costs. Delivered in two separate two-hour sessions per week over the course of 10 weeks, the Review Seminars include up-to-date material, examples, illustrations and experiences from current credential holders, a real-world-based overview of the relevant areas of secure software lifecycle development, and a post-seminar self-assessment.

During the live sessions, students can pose questions or comments to the instructor and receive immediate feedback or clarification. The materials are then archived and can be accessed by students at any time. As students listen to an archived version of the course, they can direct any questions to the instructor via e-mail.

“In this current economic climate, many companies have reduced their staff education and travel budgets,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)2. “By expanding the Live OnLine CBK Review Seminars to include the CSSLP, our goal is to provide an education program that allows software development professionals to gain a competitive edge and for companies to continue to educate their employees without incurring travel costs.”

The CSSLP aims to stem the proliferation of software vulnerabilities by establishing best practices and validating an individual’s competency in addressing security issues throughout the software lifecycle. Code-language neutral, it is applicable to analysts, developers, software engineers, software architects, project managers, software quality assurance testers, programmers and others involved in the software lifecycle.

Live OnLine participants will need a computer with at least Windows XP SP2 or later operating system, speakers or a headset, and the ability to download a WebEx client. Students will receive a copy of the appropriate Official (ISC)² CBK Study Guide and a hardcopy of the course materials.
