(ISC)2 Announces Availability of its SSCP Cyber Security Credential Exam in Bahasa Indonesia Language

Translated Exam Part of (ISC)²’s Strategy to Meet Global Demand for Qualified Information Security Staff

Bandung, Indonesia, Dec 14, 2011 – (ISC)² (“ISC-squared”), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP®, today announced at the Indonesia Information Security Forum (IISF) 2011 that the availability of its Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) credential exam in Bahasa Indonesia, the official Indonesian language. IISF is hosted by Directorate of Information Security, Directorate General of Informatics Application, and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Republic of Indonesia, in Bandung, Indonesia. The first SSCP exam in Bahasa Indonesia will be available to candidates at the end of March 2012. This latest translation effort by (ISC)2 is intended to help meet the local demand for qualified information security professionals.

The SSCP is ideal for practitioners who implement security policies and procedures and are working toward positions such as network security engineers, security systems analysts, or security administrators. It is also suitable for those in non-security positions that require an understanding of security but do not have information security as a primary part of their job description. This large and growing group includes information systems auditors; application programmers; system, network and database administrators; business unit representatives; and systems analysts.

“We appreciate (ISC)2 making the SSCP exam widely accessible to practitioners in Indonesia. It will encourage local information security professionals to learn and practice international industry standards such as the SSCP measures and help them demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities to the organizations they’ve been tasked with protecting,” said Dr. Cahyana Ahmadjayadi, senior expert to the Minister for Politics and Security and (ISC)2 Asian Advisory Board member, during his keynote speech at the IISF.

“It is difficult to find information security professionals with the required competence and skill sets to fill such positions. In government, there are many information assets that require proper protection. The bi-lingual SSCP exam will assist in producing more of the much-needed practitioners and professionals in this field,” Aizirman Djusan, head of ICT Research and Human Resources Development Agency at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

"On behalf of APTIKOM, I support (ISC)2’sinitiative to provide the first internationally recognized information security certification exams in Indonesia’s local language. This initiative is a huge step toward advancing the information security competency in Indonesia," Richadus Eko Indrajit, chair of the Association of Higher Education in Informatics and Computers in Indonesia (APTIKOM).

W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, (ISC)² executive director, added, “We are encouraged by the Indonesian government’s enthusiasm and support for adopting international information security standards and look forward to working with them in the future to continue to strengthen the information security workforce in Indonesia.”

Apart from Bahasa Indonesia, SSCP exams are also available in English, Japanese and Portuguese languages.
