ISACA's Virtual Seminar to Share Latest IT Risk Management Guidance Free Event on 19 October Brings Experts to Your Desktop

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (7 September 2010)-IT professionals can pursue continuing education, network with industry leaders and interact with vendors, all without leaving their desks, at ISACA's upcoming virtual conference in October. ISACA-a global association serving more than 95,000 IT governance, audit, assurance and security professionals-will feature current topics and expertise from international IT and business experts at its free virtual seminar, titled Managing IT Enterprise Risk, on Tuesday, 19 October 2010, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CDT).

The educational sessions will explain how to assess and manage IT risks, and how to strategically balance business goals. Sessions include:
  • The Interconnected Enterprise: Where Does the Security Boundary End?
  • Audit Blind Spots: Assessment of IT Enterprise Risk
  • IT Governance: Risk IT
During live Q&A sessions, attendees can interact directly with the speakers, including Nancy A. DeFrancesco from U.S. National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, who will discuss tips for mitigating risk to the enterprise from system interconnections, and Ninette Caruso from Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, who will explain how planning and building IT systems and the supporting organizational placement of IT staff are more important to audit than the typically audited "operational" risk.

"Enterprise risk is continually evolving, and balancing the myriad of risks appropriately is an ongoing challenge," said Emil D'Angelo, CISA, CISM, international president of ISACA. "ISACA's virtual conference will help IT professionals obtain valuable tools for managing IT risks within an enterprise risk framework and network with global experts, while meeting their employers' needs for low-cost continuing education and minimal time away from the office.

In addition to attending informative sessions, participants will be able to network with other attendees and "visit" exhibitor booths, where they can interact live with top IT vendors who can discuss innovative ways to create cost-effective risk management programs.

Additional information about the free virtual conference is available at Attendees can earn up to four free continuing professional education (CPE) hours. To learn more about ISACA's global events, please visit
