CompTIA Introduces Portuguese-Language Versions of CompTIA A+ and Strata IT Fundamentals Exams

SAO PAULO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CompTIA, the leading provider of vendor neutral skills certifications for the world’s information technology (IT) workforce, announced today the availability of a Portuguese-language version of the exams for its flagship CompTIA A+ certification, the industry standard for computer support technicians.

Also now available in Portuguese is the CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals certificate exam.

CompTIA A+ is an internationally-recognized, vendor-neutral certification that validates competence in areas such as computer installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. More than 800,000 IT professionals around the world are CompTIA A+ certified.

“CompTIA A+ is the best credential an individual can secure to launch a career an IT,” said Terry Erdle, senior vice president, skills certification, CompTIA. “The exams deliver a comprehensive measurement of the core competencies and knowledge that should be a part of any IT professional’s skill set.”

To attain the certification candidates must pass two exams. CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an IT professional with a recommended 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. CompTIA A+ Practical Applications is an extension of the knowledge and skills identified in CompTIA A+ Essentials with more of a "hands-on" orientation focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.

The CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals certificate exam measures an individual’s knowledge of basic IT terminology and technology. Examples include setting up a basic PC work station; installing software; identifying compatibility issues; and recognizing and preventing basic security risks.

“With the basic understanding of PC and networking fundamentals covered by this exam CompTIA Strata is relevant to a wide range of audiences,” Erdle said. “Students looking to gauge their aptitude and interest for IT; prospective employees seeking to demonstrate that they’re ready to enter the IT workforce; and individuals looking to boost their tech savvy all will find value in earning the CompTIA Strata certificate.”
