ISACA Offers In-depth, Four-day IT Training Week in Las Vegas

Rolling Meadows, IL, USA (10 October 2013)—ISACA, a nonprofit association of more than 110,000 IT security, assurance and governance professionals in 180 countries, is offering its popular training courses to IT professionals in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, this December, meeting the need for short, yet in-depth and intense, educational events on audit, security and governance topics.

ISACA will host the four-day Training Week courses in Las Vegas, from 9-12 December 2013, at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Attendees can choose one of the following courses:


  • Fundamentals of IS Audit and Assurance will introduce the essential components and steps needed to perform an information system (IS) audit, and gain a basic understanding of audit objectives and controls.
  • Information Security Management (ISM) will provide a clear understanding of ISM fundamentals, key system security engineering, analysis and assessment techniques, and tactics and procedures to handle security incidents more effectively.
  • Governance of Enterprise IT (GEIT) will introduce IT professionals with current or prospective managerial responsibilities to relevant frameworks, best practices, and processes used to support the governance of enterprise IT, and provide insight into the value that governance brings to an enterprise.
  • IT Risk Management will describe the principles of IT risk management, the responsibilities and accountability for IT risk, how to build risk awareness, and how to communicate risk scenarios, business impact and key risk indicators. The course includes the development of a sample measurement-driven risk response plan.
  • COBIT 5: Strategies for Implementing IT Governance will provide an understanding of the COBIT 5 framework for the governance and management of information and technology, and explain how to implement COBIT in the enterprise.

The ISACA Training Courses registration fee for these courses, which includes course materials, is US $2,295 for ISACA members and US $2,495 for nonmembers. Participants are eligible to earn up to 32 continuing professional education (CPE) hours.
