(ISC)2® First to Debut Training Courses on DHS Cyber Resource Portal

Organization Partners With Government to Help Build the Next Generation of Cyber Professionals

Clearwater, Fla., U.S.A., October 6, 2014 – (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified information and software security professionals with over 100,000 members worldwide, today announced the debut of (ISC)² training for its CISSP®, CISSP-ISSAP®, CISSP-ISSEP®, CSSLP®, and SSCP® certifications on the DHS National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS) portal, a comprehensive online resource for cyber education and training. (ISC)² is the first professional organization to have its training course information accessible from the DHS portal.

According to DHS, NICCS was developed in February 2013 in close partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Defense, the Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Personnel Management. It leverages efforts of government, industry, and academia to provide a comprehensive, single resource to address the nation’s cybersecurity knowledge needs.

“Cybersecurity is a booming career field that unfortunately still lacks a well-defined career path,” says Dan Waddell, CISSP, CAP, PMP, director, Government Affairs,
(ISC)². “The NICCS Portal provides those entering the field or those seeking continuing education a trusted resource, knowing that all training courses listed on the site map to the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework and therefore, align with national standards.”

In order to be considered for inclusion on the NICCS portal, training organizations must verify that their courses map to the NICE 2.0 Framework specialty areas. To search (ISC)² training opportunities on the NICCS portal, please visit
